Some of you have asked, “Why can’t I buy or sell a Concrete Moose?”
Well, first of all, because it’s wrong. Just as it’s wrong to buy and sell people. One just can’t do this sort of thing in a civilized society.
Second, it’s because when you start to buy and sell something it’s value quickly becomes externalized and subjective. Concrete Moose are valuable because they just are. When given as a gift they say so much more than a bottle of wine or a gift certificate to Silver City. They say, “I am thankful that you are a part of my life, and I like what you add to Thunder Bay.”
